This is the hardest thing i have ever had to write.
My father translated to glory on Saturday, 17th August, 2013. He was not overtly ill apart from the usual Nigerian adult malaise of Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension ( High Blood Pressure), which he managed well for over 26 years. Remember i stated that that i lost a relative in May this year. So forgive my intermittent postings.
I had started writing this post at about 10.30 PM on the 16th day of August, 2013 as the title weighed heavily in my spirit.Little did i realize that the sting i was asking of was about to hit me where i least expected, right in my own household. I was weary of writing this post and in my usual manner, procrastinated about it and decided to leave it till later.
I woke up on that fateful day and was visibly shocked at the finality and infinity of Death. O," Death, indeed where is thy sting?"
For all of us with both or one of our parents still alive, learn to love them despite their parental peculiarities as you never know when you might lose them. Death is a fact of life but the fact remains that, it comes unannounced and without pomp and pageantry.
Indeed, you never know what you have until you lose it. My father was a good man and i am not saying this because i am his son but from a glimpse of his life from the eyes of others. So live your life to the fullest and try as much as possible to die empty.(Dying empty signifies living your dreams to the best of your abilities).
Adieu O, Andrew Adebayo Ojomo “OMO OJOMO, O YAN , OGBOGBO LETI , OMOMO LENU ABU OJOMO TAN SE WA YIN OJOMO OYAN OMOLOMO NI ORI LOKU IGBE.
N.B. In other news, my family was blessed with the addition of a bouncing baby boy few days after my dad passed on......
