Africa is a CONTINENT, not just One Country

I mean it's really exasperating when you hear people say nonsense.

In this age of Google, what you don't know isn't a crime, the real crime is not taking the time to find out.

Watch the below video and see what i mean.

WHILE I WAS AWAY!

WHILE I WAS AWAY, Toin grew bigger, @ilola published another book, my Twittertude grew, cobwebs gathered on here, @soundsultan released a new album, Malala did not win the Nobel Peace Prize, Aluu 4' one year remembrance service held, CAN became the Christian arm of the PDP, Goodluck Jonathan states he shall have a national dialogue, Tompolo bought a Private Jet( why not, when his company received $326million(or thereabouts) as fees for policing our territorial waters, a job supposedly for the Nigerian Navy), Asari-Dokubo and 83 year old Edwin Clark establishes private universities, ASSU became the best free striker in the world, Sisi Yemmie entered for a dream wedding contest, AC, ANPP, CPC and a faction of APGA formed APC( same of the same).

So what else is new?

Just For Laughs..../ Barka De Sallah

Here are two funny videos i came across during my recent hibernation.

Child singing Adele"s "Someone Like You".

I think she is just so adorable especially when she is making faces.. She displayed quite some emotion in this rendition.

This video is quite hilarious... What was the goat all about??// LOL......

N.B.
I had this post in draft for over 5 months and thought today might be apt to post because of the goat. LOL.
Barka De Sallah/Eid Muburak to all Muslims excluding the Boko Haram. I do not regard them as true Muslims because if they truly are, then they would be slaughtering rams and not people.

Death, where is thy sting?/

This is the hardest thing i have ever had to write.

My father translated to glory on Saturday, 17th August, 2013. He was not overtly  ill apart from the usual Nigerian adult malaise of Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension ( High Blood Pressure), which he managed well for over 26 years. Remember i stated that that i lost a relative in May this year. So forgive my intermittent postings.

I had started writing this post at about 10.30 PM on the 16th day of August, 2013 as the title weighed heavily in my spirit.Little did i realize that the sting i was asking of was about to hit me where i least expected, right in my own household. I was weary of writing this post and in my usual manner, procrastinated about it and decided to leave it till later.

I woke up on that fateful day and was visibly shocked at the finality and infinity of Death. O," Death, indeed where is thy sting?"

For all of us  with both or one of our parents still alive, learn to love them despite their parental peculiarities as you never know when you might lose them. Death is a fact of life but the fact remains that, it comes unannounced and without pomp and pageantry.

Indeed, you never know what you have until you lose it. My father was a good man and i am not saying this because i am his son but from a glimpse of his life from the eyes of others. So live your life to the fullest and try as much as possible to die empty.(Dying empty signifies living your dreams to the best of your abilities).

N.B. In other news, my family was blessed with the addition of a bouncing baby boy few days after my dad passed on......

Delirium

I must apologize for my non-posting all this while.

I lost a dear family member in May and was subsequently hit with an illness that took me to delirious heights. It was more challenging than what earlier transpired but WE THANK THE LORD, body still day inside cloth.

I did not work throughout the month of May and this June, i have only been able to attend to one or two issues. However, its not all gloomy news.

I will try to condense all that happen into a single post and get back to regular programming i.e. the How-To series....

Being delirious makes you see things in perspective, doesn't it?

Health is Wealth..

Sounds cliched, i know but that"s the reality.

Until it happens, you would always be like " It's well" like the evangelicals would have us say..

Always go for a check-up even if everything is well or appears to be well.

Reduce all behavioral patterns and deeds that are inimical to you in the long run...

Make friends with your doctor.....

Peace.....

Shalom.............

Procrastination is......

Indeed the thief of time... I really tried to post articles this past few weeks but procrastination did not help matters.

So much has happened in the last few weeks that trying to blog about the various issues now would be a kill-joy. From trends like Shem's Oga@the top
to 2face's star studded destination wedding( including the controversial gifts etc. Landcruiser Prado, Ferrari or Chevrolet Corvette, 29 or 20 people being sponsored by Gov. Akpabio aka Fada Keresi), PDP's reconciliation meetings, Gov Akpabio's lunch gift of 6 Million Naira, Traffic on Lagos Roads( like say that one na new thing), my birthday shindig, etc..... You get the drift???

So what has been happening to me? Well,  i have been so busy starting up a new business, yay, call me C.E.O., so my time has been appallingly distributed between the new start-up and the previous start-ups. You want to know what the start-up is? More on that later....

I have never been so busy in my entire life. Yes, i know, i appear indolent and care-free(apparent from my lazy write-ups) but seriously, starting a new business is like giving birth to a baby. For many more years of the baby's life, you have to feed, nourish , nurture and watch he/her grow until they are fully ready for independence. Even at that, you might still be called up to attend to some post independence issues.

However, i promise to post at least twice every week moving forward and we will kick off that with an exciting new series which is aptly titled " The How To" series.

So join me every Monday and Thursday as i would(if procrastination allows) be posting the series on those days.

Lest i forget, have a wonderful Easter. Do not break any eggs as they hatch into chickens.....LOL..

Mid-Life Blues

I really tried not to blog this February but I guess I do not know my own weakness well.

I've been in hibernation doing some serious soul-searching.

Does meditation, yoga and all those esoteric exercises really help?

Kindly let me know by your comments...

                                                          WHY ALWAYS PUYOL?

N.B.  I could not resist posting the above pics

State of The Nation Address

I had to just come of my hibernation to make this short comment on this topical and burning issue that's engulfing our nation at the moment.

How do you justify a term of imprisonment for two years or paying a fine of N750, 000: 00 for stealing 23.3 Billion Naira ( about $147 million)? Simply, the law does not allow the judge to impose a sentence than that prescribed by the law. So in Mr John Yusuf's case, so he got a pat on the back for being a smart alec.( though he has been re-arrested, whats to say the same wont repeat itself?).

How do you justify a term of three years imprisonment for stealing a handset worth N 17,000 when juxtaposed with the sentence imposed in the preceding paragraph? Simply, the law is different for the rich and the poor.

How do you justify name calling? Simply if someone calls you a reckless spender, call them( him/her or him and her) a reckless spender too.. E.g. You have spent 10 trillion Naira recklessly, you respond, You nko, didn't you spend 352.3 Billion as Minister for Education recklessly?

How do you spend $34 million on a Malian adventure? Simply, ask the French to provide men and equipment, then ready 901 men to go but send only 100 men...

How do you survive being a Nigerian? Simply, it is inborn. Just being a Nigerian makes you tough...

Till the snow thaws, i go back to my hibernation.....

Yours faithfully,

Your Neighbourhood Friendly Bear,

HAPPY NEW YEAR............

SUMMARY OF NIGERIA's HISTORY TO DATE (as compiled from @Chxta's Timeline)

There was a country...

1905: The British government bought a total area of just over 900,000 sq km from the Royal Niger Company. Cost: £845,000.

1910: A report was sent to London indicating that for three years running, the Northern part had failed to meet its production quotas.

1910: same report also pointed out that the Southern part had exceeded its production quotas by a factor of three in the same period.

1913: The decision was taken to merge the Southern and Northern parts for "administrative convenience".
